At possession, the Texas contract asks the seller to hand the buyer control of the smart devices and remove their own access. The safe way to do both is to reset each device, not share a password.

Start credential handover
Most devices rotate (seller resets, buyer sets up fresh) — no encryption. Pick Sealed exception only for a device that cannot be reset.
Frictionless by default — the buyer opens on their own device with no passphrase. The seller also sets a backup passphrase on the seal page, so the buyer is never locked out if they switch devices.
You only name the device here — you never enter the password. The seller types the actual code privately on their own Seal Link.
Data in, data out. CleanSL8 seals exactly what is entered and cannot see or verify its contents. Accuracy is the seller's; verification is the buyer's.
